BIG Change

Some Fun Fundraising Activities That Children Can Do ALONE

  • Household Treasure Hunts – kids can collect pennies and other loose change as part of a household treasure hunt.  Parents can time it and all the loose change they find within a certain amount of time (say 15 minutes) from under sofa cushions, chairs, in coat pockets, bottom of back-packs, on top of counters, junk drawers and in laundry can be collected for donation.  But – do not go in Mom’s pocketbook or Dad’s wallet.  That money is not part of a treasure hunt.
  • Chore Raising – children will earn change by doing chores and errands such as cleaning your room, making your bed, emptying the garbage, separating the recyclables, putting away toys, going to bed on time, brushing your teeth twice a day, hanging up your clothes, and other activities.
  • Dog Walking (alone for older children and younger children with supervision)

Some Fun Fundraising Activities That Children Can Do WITH THEIR FAMILY

  • Shred-a-thon - If kids’ parents have shredders they can hold a shred-a-thon with adult supervision and charge per the bag of papers.
  • Yard Sales
  • Stoop sales for city kids
